Bono, My Tyres Are Gone Meme Generator
3:40 on a Friday. You've read the same email four times and understood none of it. You message your work friend one word: "gone".
Phone at 9% at the start of a two-hour train journey. The charger is at home, on the bed, where you can picture it perfectly.
Third hour of the family dinner. Your uncle has moved on to his views about roundabouts. Under the table you text your partner "I have nothing left".
The trainers you've worn since 2019 have a hole in each sole. You know about the holes. Every puddle makes sure you don't forget.
How it came about: Peter "Bono" Bonnington has been Lewis Hamilton's race engineer at Mercedes since 2013, and through six world titles Hamilton kept radioing him the same report: "Bono, my tyres are gone." Fans clipped it from race after race and r/formuladank turned it into a catchphrase.
Why it caught on: Hamilton often said it and then set the fastest lap of the race, so it doubled as a joke about drivers crying wolf - and "my tyres are gone" fits anyone who has nothing left and keeps going anyway.
